Failed surgery. Ongoing infection. The cases other doctors leave open-ended, Dr. Baker treats as a decision to make — not a waiting game.
When a single, decisive surgery is the right choice, he’ll tell you. When it’s not, he’ll tell you that, too. Either way, you’ll know the plan and why it’s the plan — not just the next appointment.
Joint infections are serious, and they scare people. That’s normal. Dr. Baker’s job is to take the fear out of the unknown part — walking you through what’s happening, what your choices are, and what each one means for your recovery.
Dr. Baker is also an early adopter of newer, more direct antibiotic treatment methods, used when they genuinely improve your outcome — not because they’re new.
Dr. Baker uses robotic-assisted surgery and modern cementless implants, including cementless patella components some surgeons still hesitate to use. He doesn’t use these tools to impress you. He uses them because, in the right case, they help you heal faster and move better. If a tool doesn’t change your outcome, he won’t use it just because it’s available.
Dr. Baker will tell you plainly, and treat you accordingly.
Not every case qualifies. He'll walk you through the reasoning, either way.
If it does, he'll use it. If it doesn't, he won't.
If you’re sending a patient with a failed prior surgery, a periprosthetic infection, or a complex primary case, Dr. Baker will give you a clear read on next steps — not a vague “let’s take a look.” Click the link below for more information and to reach him directly to discuss a case.
